In May 2020, a group of 14 elephants left their natural habitat and traveled more than 500 kilometers through the province of Yunnan (China), in the southwest of the country, in search of new horizons. The elephants traveled for 17 months, traveling some 500 kilometers through Yunnan province, reaching the outskirts of Kunming, a major city. But once they reached the outskirts of Kunming, they changed direction and began their journey back home.
Scientists do not understand this attitude of the elephants, and the population was threatened with this unexplained attitude.
Surely the elephants decided to go out and see the world to see if they could find a better place to live. And when they saw the civilization and industrialization of the cities, they decided to return home.
