Acrylic paint on wood
100 x 130 cm.
This work, “The Old Man and the Sea”, is inspired by the short novel of the same name, written by Ernest Hemingway in 1951 and which tells the story of an old Cuban fisherman to whom fate seems having abandoned, and the greatest challenge he faces: the ruthless and relentless battle with a sailfish, similar to the swordfish. Where the old defies the storms, looking directly into the eyes of Mother Nature, with no other goal than to achieve his goal.
In this painting, the strength of the sea waters is represented with organic shapes and bright colors. Where you can decipher, if you pay attention, the figure of the sailfish in the narrative.
